President Joe Biden declared a major disaster in Orange County and Caledonia County related to flooding damage, adding them to six already declared disaster counties in Vermont.
“We got good news today — that the President approved two additional counties, Caledonia and Orange,” FEMA federal coordinating officer William Roy said at Gov. Phil Scott’s Friday morning press conference in Berlin. “FEMA continues to work with Vermont to assess the damages in the other impacted counties.”
The declaration will unlock federal resources for Vermont residents in the affected counties.
The town of Washington hopes to get the FEMA mobile unit into the village soon to help residents with paperwork for disaster relief.
